Rare chance to own a 1962 Steinway Model O (5'10"), serial #378092, built at the Steinway factory in Hamburg, Germany, offered by our Restoration team. It still has its original Hamburg high gloss ebony finish, its original soundboard, and its original Steinway key, tagged with the serial number. It has never been rebuilt, which makes it an ideal starting point for a restorer or a buyer who wants a restoration done to their own specifications.

This piano is offered AS IS and needs a complete restoration. Our technicians evaluated it on October 28, 2026:
• Soundboard: original, one crack that can be repaired and shimmed
• Bridges: minor splits, should be recapped bass and treble
• Pinblock: not holding, needs replacement
• Strings, tuning pins, agraffes and dampers: original, need replacement
• Action: original hammers, shanks, flanges, wippens and backchecks, needs a full rebuild and regulation
• Keys: fitted with new keytops
• Cabinet: original Hamburg high gloss polyester in good overall condition, with wear on the lid and small dings; a day of buffing and touch up rather than a refinish
• Two pedals, as built in Hamburg; legs, lyre and case parts all original
• Bench not included

Want it restored? Our craftsmen can restore it for you: soundboard repaired, bridges recapped, new pinblock and strings, a rebuilt action with new hammers, shanks, flanges and wippens, new keytops, a full regulation, and the original Hamburg finish polished, backed by our Peace of Mind Guarantee. Fully restored, this piano is $64,500.

Purchased as is, the buyer arranges pickup or shipping from our New Jersey facility, and we are happy to recommend professional piano movers.
