1997 Steinway Model L Grand Piano, Satin Ebony, Serial #540720

This 1997 Steinway Model L is ready to design. It is in our shop now and has not been restored yet. The price includes our restoration, completed before delivery, and you can work with our technicians to set the final voicing and touch to your preference.

The original soundboard is in great condition with a strong crown, so our craftsmen will keep it and put their work into the mechanics and stringing: new strings, new tuning pins and new damper felts, with the action fully reconditioned and regulated and new damper guide rail bushings. The satin ebony cabinet will be cleaned and polished.

At 5'10", the Model L (Steinway has since replaced it with the similar Model O) is loved for its wide tail design, which gives it a rich bass close to much larger pianos. A new 2026 Steinway Model O in satin ebony lists at $117,900.
