This Steinway & Sons Model S is an exceptional restored grand piano that combines the character and craftsmanship
of a classic American Steinway with a comprehensive acoustic, mechanical, and cosmetic restoration.
One of the most distinctive features of this particular piano is its one-of-a-kind two-tone cabinet.
The deep, mirror-like high-gloss black polyester is combined with rich high-gloss mahogany wood-grain accents throughout selected areas of the interior.
The inside rim, music rack, interior fallboard, lid prop, and underside of the main lid showcase the warmth and natural grain of the mahogany,
creating a dramatic contrast with the polished black exterior, restored brass hardware, and refinished Steinway plate.
The restoration extends far beyond the cabinet. The original Steinway soundboard was retained and professionally restored rather than replaced.
The piano received new bridge caps, a new cross-laminated beech pinblock, new Heller bass strings, new Röslau steel strings, new Denro tuning pins, and genuine Steinway & Sons agraffes.
The action was comprehensively restored using genuine Steinway & Sons components, including new Steinway hammer heads, hammer shanks, and wippens.
The keyboard, dampers, sostenuto system, back action, and trapwork were also restored, followed by complete regulation and voicing.
At 5'1", the Steinway Model S offers the touch, tonal character, and craftsmanship of an American Steinway grand

in a compact size particularly well suited to homes, studios, and smaller music rooms.
The combination of its extensive restoration, original restored Steinway soundboard, genuine Steinway & Sons action components,
and unique high-gloss black and mahogany cabinet makes this an especially distinctive example of the Steinway Model S.
