Up for sale is a stunning, pre-WWI Steger & Sons "Art-Case" Baby Grand Piano manufactured during the legendary "Golden Age" of American piano building. This instrument features a spectacular cabinet crafted from rare, exotic Circassian Walnut and includes the highly sought-after original golden cast-iron internal plate. It has been beautifully preserved and serves as both a magnificent musical instrument and an exceptional piece of historic furniture design.
Key Features & Details:
• Cabinet & Wood Finish: The exotic Circassian Walnut veneer is in great shape with a gorgeous, highly figured marbled grain pattern. The wood has been remarkably well-preserved over the years with excellent cosmetic integrity.
• The Interior: Features a striking, pristine original golden cast-iron plate that creates a stunning visual contrast against the rich walnut wood when the lid is propped open.
• Acoustic Design: Built by the historic Steger & Sons company in Illinois, known for their heavy-duty structural engineering and deep, rich, singing tonal quality.
Condition:
The piano's exterior wood casing is in excellent condition. It is a completely authentic, unrestored heirloom piece. Musically, it is intact and functioning, but because it is a vintage instrument that has sat in a residential environment, it will require a routine post-move tuning and some restoration to its peak performance capabilities.
