1927 Mason & Hamlin Model B baby grand (5'4"), serial #35965, built in Boston during the company's golden age. Original condition in a dark satin mahogany-tone finish. The piano plays well; a few notes in the action are minimally stiff, consistent with its age, and it would benefit from a tuning and light regulation in its new home. Soundboard and plate are intact — see the photo of the cast-iron plate with Mason & Hamlin's signature Tension Resonator. Mason & Hamlin's Model B is still in production today at roughly $80,000 new; fully rebuilt vintage examples retail in the $30,000s. This is a sound, honest candidate either to enjoy as-is or to rebuild. Located in Winnetka, IL (Chicago North Shore). Buyer arranges professional piano moving. Serious inquiries welcome; happy to make the piano available for inspection by you or your technician.
