The Yamaha C7 is the most popular piano in America for recording studios and the performance of pop, rock, musicals, films, and jazz. This particular piano is also suitable for classical music due to its rich timbre and excellent dynamic range. Several concert pianists have played it side-by-side with our Steinway C concert rental piano in our workshop showroom. They were all impressed by the warmth and power of the C7.

For recording, it has the advantage of an 88-note Disklavier system. One may play a piece, then work on mics, acoustics, etc. A number of great recordings were produced this away, including "Dick Hyman Plays Duke Ellington". He performed each piece twice in a concert hall, then left the engineers to tweak mic placement etc., with the piano playing any passage or entire pieces on demand.

It's also MIDI compatible for use with computers and other MIDI instruments. So one may transmit MIDI files or edit files generated by the C7. One may also use the C7 to add sound during live performance.

We installed 4" brass concert casters with locks for use in concert halls or anywhere that it needs to be pushed around, yet remain stable when played. No need for springy grand truck (aka "spider") with large rubber wheels.

Finally, it functions well as a "silent piano". By pressing a button and donning earphones, you can listen to a digital sample while making nothing buy quiet action sounds in the room.

It has little wear on the action parts, holds its tune especially well, and looks nearly new. You may play it in our workshop showroom in Great Barrington, MA and compare it with our Steinway costing three times as much (if it were for sale).
