This fine old piano with flame mahogany veneer sounds good and plays well, holds its tune and has the full, rich tone one would expect from the full-size Steinway upright of this vintage.
The case has been refinished and the hammer heads replaced. Otherwise it is original. The ivories are intact, although some have the splits common after 100 years. The soundboard is good, and there are just a few minor splits in the upper range of the bass bridge caps. There is no audible weakness of tone or noise from these defects. The bass strings are alive and clear.
