Private seller. Only selling because I am moving out of the country in a few months. Asking for $15,000 OBO—would like to sell by mid-December.
Well-maintained and regularly cared-for 1924 Steinway M owned and used by a professional, classically-trained pianist, accompanist, and composer (me, the seller). The soundboard, pinblock, and bridges are all in very good shape. This instrument has a particularly warm, resonant sound, especially in the mid-range and bass registers for an instrument of its size. I've found it great for accompanying singers and playing chamber music.
I will miss this instrument! It has been a joy to practice on, teach, and rehearse with in my home studios over the years.
Purchased secondhand from Steinway and Sons, Pasadena CA in 2015. According to them, it had one owner for a few decades before it came back into their hands with a trade-in, lived in a Steinway warehouse for several years until I purchased it.
After purchase, I had the instrument thoroughly regulated, including its back action completely rebuilt by a Steinway certified technician. It has been regularly tuned, repaired, and regulated since I purchased it. If requested, can show all documentation of purchase, regulation, tunings, repairs, etc.
Cosmetically, it is not pristine, but it is overall in good shape, no major blemishes. Great as a home or studio instrument for anyone. Includes matching cloth-upholstered bench and caster cups (pictured).
Located in Ithaca, NY. Buyer will arrange and pay for moving the instrument at time of purchase.
