This beautiful 1950 Blüthner 5'6" grand was built in Leipzig, Germany and features Blüthner’s distinctive Aliquot stringing system. Serial number 128913.

The piano was purchased in 2017 from Living Pianos, a respected specialty piano dealer. Robert Estrin of Living Pianos recently confirmed that the original purchase price was $21,775, including delivery and in-home tuning.

The piano was a prized possession of its most recent longtime owner, who maintained his instruments meticulously. It was kept in a climate-controlled home, monitored with humidity gauges and humidification equipment, and regularly protected with a piano blanket when not in use.

The piano is finished in black satin and presents very well. A professional appraisal completed May 25, 2026 described the cabinet and action as being in good condition, with only minor nicks, scratches, hardware tarnishing, and normal wear consistent with age and use. The appraiser’s overall assessment was that the piano is in good overall condition, has been properly maintained over the years, and remains a truly beautiful instrument.

The piano is also equipped with a QRS PNO3 player system.

The appraisal noted several cracks in the soundboard, but found no rib separations, pinblock issues, or plate issues. At the time of inspection, the piano was approximately 8 cents below concert pitch and due for tuning.
