Steinway Model "A-57 Round Tail"
Serial Number 79865

Steinway Model A made in the New York Steinway Factory in 1894. Owned by the great American Roosevelt family. Masterfully & totally rebuilt by Joseph & Anton Pramberger LTD. in 1995. A once in a lifetime opportunity for the discerning piano player who wants the best possible instrument to play.

Rebuild included:

New soundboard

New pin block and new pins

Steinway Hamburg action parts including;

New repetitions, new hammers, shanks, & flanges

New strings, refinished plate, new damper felts, refinished damper heads

New key covers, and new bridge caps.

New reconditioned under lever assembly and new lyre and pedal work.

New interior felts.

All hardware parts re-plated in brass and finished in a satin polish finish.

Piano was refinished with a hand rubbed high polish, high-gloss ebony finish.

The previous owner of the piano told us that when he went to the Pramberger showroom to chose a piano, he brought a concert-pianist friend with him and played numerous pianos. They both felt how special this piano was in comparison to others. They chose this piano because of its rich bass and clear, almost surreal sublime Steinway tonal quality.

Previous owners were recreational players and although they did not play that much, they were fastidious in maintaining the pianos excellence with regular tunings and adjustments when needed. The piano is currently at Sonny's Piano Warehouse in nearly mint showroom condition and is awaiting it's new owner where it can carry on the Steinway and Pramberger piano legend.

The Prestigious Pramberger family started making pianos in Europe in the early 1800s. Throughout history, The Pramberger family helped orchestrate and refine the evolution of the piano through through new patents and design refinements. Pramberger Piano LTD was founded in 1987 by Joseph Pramberger, a former Steinway Design and Engineering VP. After retiring from Steinway & Sons, where he worked for 25 years, he started PRAMBERGER LTD with his father Anton and focused on high-end piano rebuilding and restoration.

This was one of the last pianos rebuilt by Pramberger during the final period before he joined Young Chang in 1995. After his passing in 2003, the Pramberger name was sold to Samick. (So the original firm's window is basically 1987 to 1995 making this a rare opportunity to own a piano rebuilt by Pramberger during this time.)
