One of the finest Boston piano manufacturers was The Ivers & Pond Piano Company. William H. Ivers began building pianos under his own name in about 1872, and then went into partnership with Handel Pond in 1880 to establish “The Ivers & Pond Piano Company”. (Instruments built by William H. Ivers prior to 1880 were simply labeled as “Ivers”).

This lovely piano is done in the carved Greek Revival style with elegant marquetry and inlay around the entire case and music rack. This level of artistry and detail would have been a custom order at a substantial cost! These carved “art case” pianos were more expensive than traditional models, and they were built in small numbers. These ornately carved Greek Revival style pianos are quite rare today.

This piano will be completely restored, inside and out, with a historical perspective in mind. Despite its small size, this piano has a large, full tone quality comparable to a much larger instrument. If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system and can play by itself by streaming music live from any smart device. Thousands of song titles are available.

Note the industrial castors shown in the photos will be replaced with matching brass ferrules and castors. A matching piano bench is included.
