My great grandmother bought this piano in Georgia back in 1917. After decades with my grandmother, it found its way to my childhood home in the early ‘80s. It lived in our house until my mom recently downsized, when it came to me in Washington, DC.

It was originally meant for my sister, who played beautifully. Unfortunately, I do not play the piano… and I don’t have the space for it. Despite how meaningful it is, I can’t keep it.

The soundboard is in excellent shape, and the entire instrument is a nice rich mahogany. It needs to be tuned, however; even my untrained ear can tell. There are some small scratches underneath the Steinway name on the keyboard cover, and one key is chipped.

Nevertheless, this is a beautiful instrument that deserves a new life with a family that will love and appreciate it as long as my family did.
