It is with great reluctance that I need to find a new home for my beautifully restored 1927 vintage WW Kimball piano. A move necessitates this travesty. It was built in Chicago, where it has always resided, never traveling more than a few miles even to be restored in 2000. It has been carefully maintained in a humidified home and looked after by a tuner/technician at least twice every year. Several other photos, inside and out, are available for your perusal.

Asking $5500. It was just appraised at $9500. Below is a direct quote from the appraiser.

“Your Kimball is Mahogany and yes, its a 1927 vintage. Looks like the restoration job was done very nicely. The stringing is uniform, they replaced the damper felts, repaired and refinished the soundboard (nice job) and refinished the case. The fact that you have had it tuned and maintained over the years is a HUGE plus. Most people neglect these pianos for 2 or 3 decades and then try to tell me its in "good shape" when they have no clue. It looks like they may have replaced the action parts, or at least the hammers (yes, all replaced). Either way, it’s in very nice condition.

Kimball back in 1927 is a different piano than Kimballs made in the last 40 years. Yours was built with a MUCH higher level of quality of workmanship and materials as opposed to the Kimballs that were made in Mexico in the 80's and 90's that technicians generally referred to as PSO's ...(piano shaped objects) As a result of poor manufacturing, Kimball got kind of a bad name. Be sure you stress the fact that it is a restored 1927.”
