I'm selling my Sauter 130 Carus piano, a 51" German-made professional upright in polished ebony. It is in beautiful condition and has been very well cared for.

Sauter is one of Germany's oldest and most highly regarded piano makers. Larry Fine, author of The Piano Book, placed Sauter among the “Highest Quality Performance Pianos,” along with other top European and American makers.

One of the things that makes this piano unusual is Sauter's R2 Double Escapement action, designed to give an upright much of the responsiveness and repetition of a grand piano action.

It also has a soft practice pedal, which greatly reduces the volume when quieter practice is needed.

Since I purchased the piano, I have:
• Added a Dampp-Chaser Piano Life Saver humidity-control system

• Had the piano tuned regularly

• Kept it in a climate-controlled home

The piano is in excellent / near-mint condition, both cosmetically and mechanically.

I'm selling it only because I have since moved to a grand piano.
