Beautiful vintage Sohmer & Co. Cupid Model grand piano, manufactured in New York. Serial number 66858, dating the piano to approximately 1927. This is the desirable 5'5" Cupid Model, one of Sohmer & Co.'s compact grand designs from the period when Sohmer was one of America's highly regarded New York piano manufacturers. The piano has an elegant black/ebonized case, traditional grand-piano proportions and the original Sohmer identification and “CUPID MODEL” markings on the cast-iron plate. The piano has been kept in a private home and presents beautifully for an instrument approaching 100 years old. The cabinet retains an attractive gloss and makes a striking piece of furniture as well as a historically interesting American-made piano.
