This 1922 Steinway XR grand piano is in great shape. The satin ebony case has been refinished and well cared for; no scratches. This is a true Steinway with the original soundboard in excellent condition (no cracks or issues). The XR scale is like the M (5'7"), but has an extra 9" to accommodate the original reproducer mechanism, making it sound like a lot like the B (7') - brilliant, but with lots of depth. This piano has the original ivory keys. Several keytops have hairline cracks—common with ivory—but no chips and nothing noticeable while playing. Internally, it has been repinned and restrung with new hammers (circa 2015). I am only the third owner. This piano has been tuned regularly. Some Steinway XRs from this period had a player piano mechanism; that system is not in this piano.
