The instrument carries an exceptional pedigree, featuring the signature of Harvey Z. Steinway on the soundboard. As the last family member to head the company, he presided over a period of reinvestment in quality production during his tenure.

This piano has been meticulously maintained. It was tuned annually during years of regular family use, and has been on a two-year tuning cycle since to preserve its tonal quality, responsive action and structural integrity. Soundboard, bridges, and tuning pins are all in excellent condition. The last professional tuning was completed on August 14,2025. In our home this was a musical instrument and not a piece of furniture. As a result, there is light wear along the edge of the music desk from holding sheet music, and a minor lacquer blemish on the lid cover. Both are entirely cosmetic and do not affect the magnificent performance or structural integrity of this tier-one instrument.
