First introduced in 1900, the Model O measures approx. 5’10 1/2″ in length. These pianos were discontinued by Steinway New York in 1924 and were recently reintroduced in 2005. A common sight in both homes and institutions, these pianos bridge the gap between the smaller ‘baby’ and larger parlor-style grand pianos built by Steinway. This piano received a restoration/rebuild approx. 30 years ago. Upon evaluation of the instrument, we have found the rebuild to have held up extremely well and the piano to be in excellent condition both structurally and in playability. The restoration work included new action parts, repair/refinishing work on the original soundboard, a new pinblock, new music wire and tuning pins, and much more. A PianoDisc player piano system has been installed and accepts both CDs and floppy disc media. Our piano technicians have regulated and voiced this instrument to bring out its inherent touch and tonal qualities expected of a vintage Steinway & Sons Grand Piano.
