In excellent condition for its age, the piano was professionally restored in late 2001. In the process, the piano was stripped of the original lacquer and rebuilt with 4 coats sanding sealer and 4 coats of lacquer. Coats were cured, re-sanded, and rubbed out before each application and the final rub. In the restoration, the strings were replaced with new hand-made strings with new pins and felt. The dampers were replaced. The sound board was cleaned and appears to be in excellent condition now. The original ivory keys were in good shape at that time, and as a result, were only cleaned and not replaced.

The piano needs a tuning, particularly after a move, although it is completely playable as is. The stool that I purchased with the piano was more similar to Eastlake style and not Rococo, so I purchased a separate stool that matches better with the style and finish of the piano (shown in the pictures). Happy to include or exclude the stool at the buyer's request. The legs and pedals can be removed from the piano case for easy shipping, if needed.
