The Bösendorfer Model 275 is a full concert grand (about 9 feet / 275 cm) that embodies the brand’s signature Viennese philosophy on a larger, more powerful scale, offering a deep, orchestral tone with immense resonance and color; its sound is especially noted for a rich, enveloping bass and complex overtones, partly enhanced by extended design features such as additional bass strings (often 92 keys total) that expand the harmonic spectrum and reinforce the entire instrument even when not directly played , while the famed Bösendorfer resonance-focused construction allows the whole body to vibrate, producing a broad, “surrounding” sound rather than a sharply projected one; dynamically, it ranges from extremely delicate pianissimo to commanding fortissimo with smooth gradation, and its action favors controlled, expressive playing over sheer brightness or attack, making it particularly suited for large halls, orchestral repertoire, and pianists seeking maximum tonal depth, sustain, and sonic richness rather than a more percussive or brilliant sound profile.
The Bösendorfer Model 275, built in 1994, was rebuilt in 2025 with brand new mechanism and finish. New synthetic keytops made in the Bechstein factory give a fine, almost satin-like texture that gives your fingers grip. 4 EXTRA BASS keys – extended bass range. We added European Grand Piano Wheels Solid Brass over $3,000 value.
We offer the following piano player systems: QRS and PianoDisc.
All instruments try to imitate the human voice, yet this instrument is doing so on a very, very high level. It is truly a singing instrument! -- Sir András Schiff on the Bösendorfer Concert Grand Pianos
The Resonance Case Principle is a specialized piano construction philosophy, most notably employed by Bösendorfer, where the entire instrument—not just the soundboard—is designed to function as a resonating body.
