Originally built in 1931, this instrument has had 2 major renovations over the last 30 years with the current owner taking possession in 1994:

In 1994: case refinished in mahogany, custom legs fitted, complete string replacements, new tuning pins, new decal on soundboard, new hammers and shanks, complete regulation. The instrument was also fitted with a comprehensive QRS player piano with remote and CD operation.

In 2025: complete regulation, action calibration, removal of chronic multiple strike, adjustment of key dip and comprehensive cleaning.

Upon full inspection in 2025, the original ivory keys are not chipped and are in very good condition. The soundboard is in impeccable condition and the instrument as a whole displays a warm, beautiful and delicate sound. There are no traces of oxidation or rust on strings or tuning pins. This Steinway model M has had very limited playing time, relatively speaking, since 1994, which the hammerhead felts bear evidence of. As a result, this instrument should conservatively have another 100 years of playtime left, if properly cared for. [A slight regulation/adjustment/lubrication is needed on the right pedal.]

The instrument comes with a color-matched concert bench with round legs. Estimated new replacement cost: $98,700.
