This 135+ year-old family heirloom and masterpiece music collector's show-piece, was built between 1885 and 1890. As Secondary Owner, it was purchased by the Gatewood Family of Canisteo, NY. In 1983 the piano was handed down to the related - Day Family of Bedford, TX. In 1984, Granddaughter, J.B. Day of Bedford, TX, invested to have the piano fully, mechanically restored, to include: a new Soundboard, a new Solid Brass Harp, Action Mechanisms, Dampers and new Strings.

The piano has an original solid exotic Dark- Mohogany finish, original Black Keys of African Ebony Wood and original White Keys of genuine Ivory.

The piano was hardly played after being restored in 1984 and ended up in climate-controlled safe storage between 2007 and 2018.

A 1984 appraisal, just after the restoration by the Rebuilder, valued the piano at approximately $50k. Considering the approximate same condition today.... The piano is believed to be valued between $125k and $150k.
