This piano has been in my family for decades and well-kept over the years. We are selling it due to lack of space in our new house. That said, our move out date is May 15th so this is time sensitive!
The Chickering Model 125 piano quality is considered very high. The Chickering tone is something rarely found today. The increasingly rare hardwoods and hand labor involved in production has proved to be too expensive for piano manufactures. Chickering was one of the first piano companies in the United States, and was the largest producer of pianos for many years. I am delighted to have a great Chickering to offer!
This all original piano has been well cared for and has a beautiful hand rubbed satin finish which will add elegance to any room it graces. A discerning professional pianist who recently played the piano remarked that the action was very good and the tone is beautiful, even and large through all registers, unusual, particularly considering its relatively small size. Over time, fewer and fewer instruments of this caliber will be available since so few are made today at an affordable price.
The piano was appraised by a professional appraiser at $2,600. I am offering to part with it for $1,000 (price negotiable). The buyer will be responsible for moving costs, which a professional piano mover quoted at $375 (for a local move). The bench (not original to the piano) is available, but has a damaged leg, and is optional. Color: Satin Brown Mahogany
Size: L 5' 6" x W 5’
