The exterior of the piano is in Good
Original Condition. The gloss ebony finish appears to be in good condition
with light swirl marks(very normal for all high gloss ebony finishes), no dings
dents, no discoloration and as long as the piano is kept in a UV free
environment, the piano will continue to age with grace.
The Soundboard and Bridges are in Very Good Original Condition.
The soundboard and bridges are in very good condition with no stress fractures
or cracks.
The strings, tuning pins and harp(iron
plate) are in Very Good Condition. The bass
strings, tenor strings, tuning pins, are free of
oxidation, which is considered extraordinary,
and most likely means that the piano has had
its lid closed most of its life.
The original Acrylic Key Tops are in
Very Good Condition. The keys have little to
no wear and tear and are still pure white.
The external hardware(Brass) is in
Good Original Condition. The pedals,
casters and external Hardware are intact. The
original lyre support mechanism rod is also intact and in
good condition. The brass foot pedals have tarnished a bit,
but they could be easily polished and protected with a light
restoration service.
The action(internal mechanical aspect) is in Very
Good Mint Condition. The hammers, shanks, flanges and
whippens(repetitions) are original and appear to be in great
condition. The piano has not been regularly serviced, but
this shouldn’t be a big concern because all the parts are
only 20 years old. *It would be best to have the piano tuned
every 2 years minimum.
Overall the piano is in Very Good Mint Condition. This piano has been
extra well cared for throughout its life.
