Handmade in Germany in 2000
Black high gloss

I purchased this piano new in 2001. It was made back before Seiler started making most of their pianos in Indonesia.

Seiler still makes a few premium pianos in Germany and the ones of this size list for around $200K.

I am a professional pianist and have played the heck out of this piano and recorded many albums on it. A few years ago, I had the hammers and strings replaced, and while I was using it, kept it in impeccable shape in terms of voicing and regulation.

Seiler pianos made in Germany (not Indonesia) are considered on the level of Steinway and other great European brands. This is a great piano, but it is not new. Here are things I will point out:

* I bought this piano for its incredible bass. That bass still exists, but as a result, this is a very bright piano (brighter than Yamaha). If you want a mellow, less aggressive sound, this is not your piano.
* There are small nicks here and there in the cabinet. A picture of the most prominent one is attached.
* To my knowledge, there are no mechanical problems with the piano. However, for sure, it could be regulated and voiced. I retired from music a few years ago and have not had it really serviced since then other than tunings.
* The piano has pnoScan installed. This is a laser system which captures MIDI from the keystrokes without touching/affecting the action at all. I used this to compose on the piano rather than having to use a keyboard. It is a nice upgrade (cost about $2K) but if you don't want it for some reason, it can be uninstalled.
* You should come and play it before buying, and I strongly advise that you bring a piano tech with you if you have concerns about the mechanics. A piano is enormously complicated and while I am an expert pianist, I am not even close to an expert in understanding piano mechanics.

I am selling this piano for two reasons. First, I am retired from music and not playing much. Second, in the future, I probably would buy a Steinway because I now prefer more mellow tones rather than the aggressive sounds I wanted when younger.

Contact me by clicking on the "Contact Seller" button. The piano is in Monroe, GA (about 45 minutes outside the perimeter).

Shipping: This is a very heavy piano and should only be handled by a professional piano mover. I can recommend one if local, and you can expect it to cost between $500-$1,000 to move. If you are shipping out of state, I am not sure what the cost would be, but presumably a bit more.
