This 1826 antique Collard & Collard grand piano is very beautiful. It's not only an exquisite musical instrument but also a beautiful piece of antique furniture. It's made of one of the finest woods, Walnut Burl that was once used exclusively to make expensive quality furniture.

This Collard & Collard Grand Piano is so impressive that it could be the showcase centerpiece in your home whether you know how to play it or not.

There’s nothing better than to have a special holiday gathering such as Christmas when someone can play the piano and plays some holiday songs that everyone knows and loves to sing along with and enjoy.

The piano case made of Walnut Burl wood is in excellent condition and its music sounds good and all the keys work except for two higher keys. It’s 7 ft long and about 4 ft 10" wide.

If it were restored, as most piano buyers know, it would be valued at hundreds of thousands of dollars more. I have lowered my asking price even more and will sell it to you for only $2400 obo. The piano has been kept in our family living room for over 40 years and family members have passed away and we need the money. Thank you

The COLLARD & COLLARD HISTORY -

“The firm of Collard & Collard traces its origin back to Longmann & Broderip, who established a publishing company in 1767, and also built some pianos. Muzio Clementi, who had become wealthy, and whose compositions were published by Longmann & Broderip, invested part of his money in their piano factory, finally associating himself with F. W. Collard and W. P. Collard, under the firm name of Clementi & Company. Clementi’s great reputation as a virtuoso and composer was a distinct advantage to the young firm, but its lasting reputation was established through the mechanical and inventive genius of F. W. Collard, who obtained several patents for improvements as early as 1811. Upon the retirement of Clementi, the firm name was changed to Collard & Collard. Under the aggressive management of Charles Lukey Collard, who became sole owner in 1859, the firm forged rapidly to the front, and achieved world-wide fame.”

The Collard & Collard factory was closed in 1950 and the name was taken over by the Kemble Piano Group, London, England.

This piano’s serial number 9370 was built in 1826 about the third quarter. The first serial number for 1826 was 8800. The Collard & Collard Piano Company built about 800 pianos in 1826.
