This Grotrian 220 has a single owner, purchased directly from Swains piano dealer in Palo Alto, CA, tuned regularly and regulated as needed; it's been well cared for by a professional musician owner.

All the components are in good shape. It's has been in a private residence since purchased, played in multiple recitals and concerts: a benefit event with concert pianist Jonathan Bass, a concert with flutist Isabel Chapri and a recital with world renown opera singer Nathan Gunn.

The Grotrian Grand has beech rims, solid spruce soundboards, laminated beech pinblocks, and Renner actions. It is single-strung (each length of wire has its own hitch pin), which aids tuning stability. It has a homogenous soundboard in which each piece of wood is specially chosen for proper balance of sound. The cast iron plate is attached with screws along the outer edges of the rim, instead of on top of the rim, which allows the soundboard to vibrate more freely.
