The Yamaha UX3 is a professional, large 52-inch (131 cm) upright piano produced at Yamaha's Hamamatsu factor in Japan in the 1980s as a premium version of the U3. Specifically, the UX-3 features a radio back design with metal X-bracing, which adds structural rigidity and resonance. A curved bridge allows for longer bass strings and thus a richer bass register. It also uses higher-grade wood and parts similar to some Yamaha grand models.

"The Yamaha UX3 is an exceptional piano. It has a rich tone and is far superior to almost all upright pianos and even better than most baby grand pianos. The UX3 will last any musician a lifetime." - Mark Goodwin
