One-Owner American-Made Baldwin Model R Grand Piano (1994–95) – Exceptional Original Condition

This beautiful American-made Baldwin Model R grand piano has had just one owner since it was purchased new in the mid-1990s.

It belonged to my father, a surgeon in Tucson, Arizona, whose greatest passion outside of medicine was the piano. This instrument was one of his greatest joys and remained the musical centerpiece of his home throughout his life. It has remained in our family ever since and has always been lovingly cared for.

Recently inspected and professionally serviced (July 2026) by an experienced piano technician, the piano received a thorough cleaning and action regulation, resulting in a wonderfully responsive touch while retaining the warm, rich Baldwin tone for which the Model R is known. During the inspection, the technician noted that the tuning pins remain very tight, the action is in excellent condition, and the hammers remain in excellent condition—excellent indicators of a well-cared-for instrument with outstanding tuning stability.

The Baldwin Model R is widely regarded by pianists and technicians as one of Baldwin's finest home grand pianos. At 5'8", it offers an exceptional balance of size, power, and warmth, producing a rich American tone with a singing treble and resonant bass that far exceeds what its compact footprint might suggest. Built in Trumann, Arkansas during Baldwin's highly respected American manufacturing era, these Model R grands continue to be sought after for their craftsmanship, musicality, and enduring quality.

This piano proudly displays Baldwin's historic Grand Prix (Paris 1900) and Grand Prize (St. Louis 1904) medallions cast into the plate, commemorating the international awards that helped establish Baldwin as one of America's premier piano manufacturers.
