This is a beautiful, antique W.W. Kimball upright piano, likely dating from the late early 20th century (~1912). The dark wood finish and ornate carvings suggest a Victorian / early 20th-century design. Serial number 245164
Height = 57"
Width = 65"
Depth = 28"

Key Features:
Wood and Finish: The piano is made of a dark wood, possibly oak or walnut, with a rich, aged finish.

Carved Detailing: The most striking feature is the elaborate carved woodwork. The front panel above the keys is divided into three sections, each with intricate, relief-carved designs. The central panel features a large, detailed depiction of a bouquet of leaves, a common motif of the period. The two side panels have smaller, matching carved leaf motifs.

Cabinet Design: The overall cabinet design is a classic upright style with a substantial presence. The front has a paneled, tiered look that adds to its aesthetic appeal. The top lid, which opens to reveal the internal workings, is hinged.

Pedals: The piano includes the standard pedals at the base

Historical Significance: Pianos from the W.W. Kimball Company of Chicago are well-known and were a major part of the "Golden Age" of piano manufacturing in the United States. This specific style is a wonderful example of the craftsmanship and decorative artistry of the era.

Condition:
The piano is in good used cosmetic condition for its age, with the wood and carvings intact. There are some scratches and some wood pieces are missing, but do not impact the sound (see picture). The keys are ivory and several are chipped (12).
As with any antique piano, you can hire a professional inspector to assess the internal condition, including the soundboard, strings, and action, to determine its playability and tuning stability. My daughter played this piano for years. This piano was previously professionally tuned (~10 yrs).

A collector of antique musical instruments or furniture.
A decorator looking for a unique and impressive centerpiece for a living room, parlor, or music room.
A pianist interested in a vintage instrument with a rich history.
