This Golden Era 1922 Steinway Model 0 was originally purchased by the philanthropist Josephine Crane where it served as the centerpiece of literary and musical salons hosted by her daughter Louise Crane in New York. The piano was fully restored in 1996 (new pinblock, soundboard, etc. at a cost of $14,000 at the time..we have the paperwork) and then bought by a long-time employee of the family who was a musician and recently passed. The piano was well maintained and tuned regularly up until a couple years ago when the owner was in declining health. There are cracks in the soundboard as shown.
