Technical Representation
Technical inquiries for this instrument are being managed by Kent Webb (Former Manager of Technical Service and Support, Steinway & Sons NY) as a non-commissioned sale on behalf of the owner. Mr. Webb performed the formal condition inspection on January 3, for documentation and disclosure purposes, and is facilitating the process at the owner’s request.
Overview & Provenance
This Steinway Model M was completed at the New York factory on May 2, 1975. It is a one-family/friends instrument and has received routine care and maintenance since its original purchase.

Structural Components
The structural integrity of the piano is intact:
• Soundboard: Original Steinway soundboard; no cracks or separations are evident. Rib contact is intact throughout.
• Pinblock/Tuning: Original wrestplank in stable condition. Tuning pins (Size 2/0) exhibit torque of approximately 40+ inch/pounds throughout the scale.
• Bridges & Strings: Original strings and agraffes are intact with no signs of previous breakage; bridges show no evidence of splits or cracks and maintain appropriate down-bearing.
Action & Playability
The piano retains its original factory action components.
• Action Centers: The assembly utilizes the Teflon centers characteristic of this production era. While functional, they exhibit elevated levels of friction, resulting in a heavier touch and slower repetition speed.
• Wear: Original non-ivory keytops are intact with no chips or discoloration. Hammers show no substantial grooving and have sufficient felt for further voicing.
• Condition: The action is presently functional; however, it is a strong candidate for component replacement/modernization to meet current performance standards.
Cabinet Condition
The Satin Ebony case is in very good condition with minor surface wear commensurate with age. The brass hardware and fallboard decal are intact. The soundboard has been professionally dusted.
