In 2021, this Yamaha U1 (purchased from the Eastman School of music) was evaluated by a local tuner/technician/broker and priced at $5500. He noted the piano has a desirable darker, richer, more mellow tone and was built in USA. Not a Japanese piano. Action parts showed very little wear and he pronounced the piano an excellent buy. At that time, daughter did not want to sell piano. Now: we do!
