This is the rare Steinway model a that is two inches longer than the standard Steinway model A. They were only made for a limited time in New York and are highly sought after for their incredibly rich tone and even scale design.

This piano has been restrung and has Steinway action parts including hammers, shanks and wippens (repetitions) which were installed four years ago. The piano was refinished ten years ago.

The action is even with medium weight. The tone is round and warm with even voicing throughout which allows for very expressive playing.

If you have always wanted the ultimate Steinway for your home, this piano could be it since the sound is rich yet it isn’t overwhelming like the larger models B or D. These pianos are quite rare.
