This state-of-the-art piano from Bösendorfer, the great Austrian maker, is in the same condition as when it was purchased new in 2012 from a dealer in CT. Since being delivered to the buyer's home in Stockbridge, MA, it has been kept under a cover, protected from direct light, and barely played.
To prepare for it for sale from the owner's home, we only had to tune it to A440, size the key bushings that had swelled from lack of use, ease the balance holes, and lubricate the keyframe friction points. No other regulation was required. No repairs or hammer filing. The touch weight, tone, volume, sustain and repetition are superb.
This model has an open music desk and a matte black finish designed for conservatory/studio use. Hence the CS designation. The current 2025 Bösendorfer model 200 is high polish ebony with a solid music desk. Otherwise, we believe they are identical. But the current model has a list price of $167K and is about to rise significantly due to recent tariffs. The 2011 model for sale here costs less than one third as much.
If you're looking for a model 200 Bösendorfer and don't mind saving over $100K, you should play this one. The price includes a matching artists bench. The buyer pays the owner directly and bears the cost of moving, etc. It's located just 5 minutes from the Tanglewood Music Festival. Consider attending a concert while in the area.
