- Manufactured in 1939 (The end of Steinway’s “Golden Era”)

Completely rebuilt by Faust Harrison in White Plains, NY in November 2021.
- Original harp, refinished and repainted in gold and black
- Original case, refinished, painted and polished in Satin Finish
- New soundboard: Old-growth Eastern white spruce produced by the Bolduc Company of Canada
- New Pin Block, Strings, Dampers and Action.
- New Bechstein Hammers
- New Sostenuto Pedal Mechanism, replaced with original Steinway parts.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Modification - Replaced strings from notes F2 to B2 with French Paulello Wire in order to mitigate the well-known sound issue with the Model B at the break/transition between the wound bass strings and the unwound tenor strings.

Added Modification:
Installed the Grand Piano Muffler System, invented by Steven James (Registered Piano Technician).
Sliding three levers easily and smoothly move a felt strip between the hammers and the strings. Cuts the volume in half, but does not affect action, touch, etc. Great for practicing and playing in the middle of the night without bothering neighbors. (Look it up on YouTube for a demonstration of the muffler's capabilities.)

Voiced and Regulated multiple times by the finest technicians in the New York area, including the former head of the rebuilding department at Faust Harrison, to get it to the optimum level. Regularly tuned every three months.

Humidity kept at the Steinway recommended level of 45-60% year-round, using humidifiers in Winter and dehumidifiers in Summer .

Absolutely gorgeous sound and feel.

Many professional Classical and Jazz artists searching for Steinways, including those from William Paterson University and the famous Jazz pianist Bill Charlap, have expressed that this piano, which is well-known to all at Faust Harrison, is the finest Model B they have ever played, comparing it favorably to the Model D Concert Grand.

You will find many Steinway Model B pianos at cheaper prices, here on this site and others and in showrooms, but you will not find a finer sounding and feeling instrument, one that has been treated with more loving and detailed care; even new pianos at full price. I visited all of the Steinway and Faust Harrison dealers in New York and New Jersey before I was lucky enough to find this wonderful instrument. I am very sad that my personal situation has made it become necessary for me to let it go.
