MAGNIFICENT PIECE OF ART....FIT FOR A KING.

This one-of-a-kind Steinway artcase grand was manufactured in Hamburg, Germany in 1889. She was then sent to the reknowned Anton Bembé of Mainz, Germany for external artwork and decoration. As can be seen in the photos, this an extremely special instrument!

The elaborately painted case is embellished with hand-carving, gilded to highlight applied wood designs. Artcase grands were often created for a special occasion such as a wedding or anniversary gift and the paintings and carvings could depict faces of family members for whom the piano was created.

The interior workings of the piano were rebuilt previously, including new hammers and dampers, new strings and tuning pins, and soundboard repair. The original keytops are in perfect condition which is a strong indication this piano has been very well cared for throughout her life.

Tonally, this instrument is phenomenal with a warm and resonant tone. Singing, yet soothing. You will enjoy playing your favorite music on this piano for hours on end. It is rare to find this quality of instrument...but even more unusual to find one with such an elaborate design.

To further add to the uniqueness of this package, there is a matching stool and beveled mirror to accompany it. Photos don't begin to show how truly special this piano is and she is worthy to be displayed in any world-class museum. You may choose to travel cross country just to marvel at her beauty and appreciate the music she makes.....it would be worth the trip.
