Highlights of the piano’s history:

This Model D began its life as CD-128. CD (or "Concert D") is the designation Steinway reserves for its highest quality concert instruments, which are made available to world-class pianists for their performances United States. We can only speculate how many of the great pianists of the 20th century have sat at these keys.

Subsequently, it was selected by Mr. Barry Finclair - violinist emeritus of NY Philharmonic - to serve as the concert instrument for his newly formed L’Ensemble Chamber Players. During this time, the piano was restored and meticulously serviced by master technician Rand Reeves—to meet the exacting requirements of Mr. Finclair and his collaborators.
