This is a beautiful sounding piano! Sometimes called a “Budget Bosendorfer,” there are very few of these Viennese models available. The Viennese model was built during the time period when Kimball owned the Bosendorfer company, a high end European piano manufacturer. Kimball incorporated some design features from the Bosendorfers into the Viennese Kimball Grands, particularly in the sound board and harp design that produced a lovely tone that is reminiscent of the Bosendorfer bell-like tone. This piano was built in 1981, and has been well taken care of. We bought it from the original owner because it was so well cared for, and we have continued to care for it well! It is in excellent condition for its age! The action is very responsive and like new. This piano is fitted with a high quality German Schwander action and European hammers. All of the hammers are in pristine shape and the soundboard has no cracks or buzzing. We had it evaluated by a technician in March and it’s been appraised at $4000 for a private sale.

This is Kimball’s top-of-the line grand piano. So, if you are on a budget but have a student that needs to advance to a grand piano action (which is far superior to an upright), then this is the piano you want. Nothing will encourage them to play more than having their efforts produce a lovely sound for all to enjoy! We would love to see it go to someone who will love and care for it!
