"The 150th Anniversary Piano is a re-creation of the Steinway piano that Paderewski (1860-1941) played during his 1892 and 1893 American tour. Paderewski's inscribed piano now resides in the Smithsonian National Museum of American History's Hall of Musical Instruments, an exhibit that includes instruments that represent history, performance styles, and techniques of European and American music and the development of instruments. The Victorian-styled piano is complete with a carved piano desk that features the Steinway Lyre, half-round beading along the piano's rim, fluted legs, and the 150th Anniversary medallion." - Steinway 150th Anniversary publication

This is a rare and beautiful piano that catches the eye of everyone and instantly returns compliments & admiration. Especially considering one can view the original in the Smithsonian. The 150th Anniversary piano essentially affords the rare opportunity to have a Smithsonian artifact in your home. This piano is as much a piece of art as it is an instrument. The 150th Anniversary Edition Steinway accomplishes both form and function in an exquisite manor.

The Model L "Living Room Grand" (Preceded by the Model O until 1924 and replaced by the Model O in 2006 - 5' 10.75" x 4' 5.75") is 5' 10.5" x 4' 6". Steinway has published articles titled "Steinway Model O the Baby Grand of the Baby Grands" who's title says it all, yet the Model L/O is the largest of the "Baby Grands" and likewise the smallest of the concert grands. Meaning the Model L delivers rich, deep and full concert grade sound that is appropriate for professional stage performances yet can still fit in your home without monopolizing or overpowering the entire room. The Model L/O is the best fit size and sound wise for most homes. When compared to the Model B being 1 foot longer at 6' 10" and the model D being 3 feet longer at 8' 10", the Model L/O becomes the obvious choice of the concert grands for most homes. For reference, the piano is sitting on an 8ft round rug in the photos. It's one thing to see a piano in a showroom, something completely different seeing one in a home - they tend to grow in size substantially inside a home.

Privately owned and used. Purchased from Steinway Gallery, certified. Used by our children from chopsticks to Mozart. We are empty nesting & downsizing. This piano has been the centerpiece of the room and has been maintained with and open checkbook/no expense spared. Piano is kept mechanically and visually stunning. Maintained and tuned ~annually by the same technician for the San Antonio Symphony & Tobin Center. This includes action tuning/adjustments, hammer conditioning/hardening, cleaning, etc.. The matching bench is included as is the 150th anniversary book from Steinway with original announcement and details about the 150th anniversary editions. Signed by the late Henry Steinway, numbered edition plaque, art case, silver hardware, etc.. Scratches are mostly limited to the bench top. They cannot be felt with a fingernail and are mainly seen due to the satin finish and the uniform grain of the satin finish. See photos for details.
