Well-maintained instrument in very good condition. In my family for decades before it was passed on to me in the 1990s. I play it regularly and have it tuned 2x/yr. The piano plays beautifully and has the classic, rich Steinway sound. It has a lovely touch and the sustain is impressive up and down the register. This baby sings! Listen for yourself:

Since 2106, Fenton Murray, RPT has maintained the piano, performing regulation, voicing, and regular concert tuning service in Santa Cruz.
From 2004-2013, the piano was cared for by Janet Wagner, Associate Member PTG, in Savannah, GA.
In 2004, Todd Shields, the chief piano tech at Duke University and a Steinway trained technician, rebuilt the action.
In 1984, Michael Spreeman, who designed the celebrated Ravenscroft pianos, performed the following:
- Replaced pinblock
- Restringing
- Refinished sound board and harp
- Installed, regulated new dampers
Receipts available.
The median price for these pianos on Pianomart is around $24,000.Few at that price point have the level of restoration that mine benefits from. I recently reduced mine to $17,500. Case is in good condition with a few dings in the veneer and minor sun-bleaching. I bought a larger grand and, though it's nice to have two grands in the living-room, it's time to pass on this heirloom to another pianist. I may be biased, but I've played quite a few Ms in showrooms and they pale in comparison to mine. Synthetic keytops are in excellent condition. This instrument is suitable for players from beginner to advanced levels.
Will consider serious offers over $15,500. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you're interested or have questions. I accept payment only via Pianomart's escrow service, Paypal, or cash.
Cheers, Ed
