This Mason & Hamlin has arrived, been cleaned, polished, and tuned to concert pitch!!! Customer feedback has this pianos performance rated as being very high and very powerful with keys action extremely responsive!! One concert level pianist said that it was like playing a piano that performs like a Ferrari... having so much power and high response!!! As in all Mason & Hamlin Pianos, this 1979 Model A has the "Crown Retention System," which is unique to Mason & Hamlin and lends stability to the piano. the Mason & Hamlin's Tension resonator (as pictured) is a set of steel truss rods that are attached to the inner rim at precisely calculated points, adding strength and rigidity to the rim. It locks the rim into its permanent shape, resisting the spreading forces of down-bearing on the soundboard.
