The piano came out of the factory on December 15, 1884 and was sold 1900 francs to a man named Massé who lived 12 rue de Clichy in Paris.
It is a rare instrument that is preserved in its original condition. It is an important milestone in the evolution of the craftmanship of romantic pianos. The pianos from the Pleyel factory were Chopin's favorite instruments and their sonority is truly exceptional.

The company name is Pleyel from the foundation in 1807 until 1857, Pleyel & Wolff from 1857 to 1887 and Pleyel Wolff Lyon & Company from 1887)

With its integrated design office, Wolff modernized the instruments by introducing cross-strings (that you can see on the photos) to expand the sound, creating resistant cast-iron frames, and developing concert pianos for large stages.
Pleyel won a gold medal at the 1889 Universal Exposition to reward the excellence of his instruments and for his social action. The company was indeed concerned with working conditions and created canteens, housing, nurseries, and healthcare for its workers.

The cabinetmaking shows the care provided to all the components of the instrument.

It is a wonderful instrument to play, it is in perfect condition and it is also a collection instrument.

There is no bench.

The only reason for this reasonable price is that the market for this type of instrument is limited. I reluctantly decided to sell it because of a lack of space.
