This piano, made in the Czech Republic, is being sold by its first owner. It has the warm and rich tone typical of Petrof pianos, and a considerable sustain that makes it easier to produce singing melodies. In addition, it has features that make it especially well suited for students (apart from its size - it fits easily into small apartments).

Note the music shelf, which runs the entire length of the keyboard. This allows the use of two (or more) books side by side. This is helpful for long pieces with awkward page turns, for teaching, and for comparing texts.

Note also the middle pedal, also known as the practice pedal, or mute. One of the pictures shows the practice pedal engaged, which places a felt between the strings and the hammers. This subdues the sound considerably, allowing the student to practice without annoying neighbors.

Included with the piano is the original matching bench. It is padded and adjustable to the desired height.

The piano has been kept in tune since new, and has been serviced by the best technicians in the area. It is in excellent condition, except for a nick in the cabinet, on the right side, that can be seen in some of the pictures (which is why it is offered at a rather low price, given the quality of the instrument).
