A Mason & Hamlin Model A which has been restored and maintained. This quality piano is in good playing condition. The key tops, bass strings and damper felts have been replaced. The hammers were replaced by German Abel hammers. The piano was refinished with lacquer at some point. The finish is not perfect, but still has an even tone with a nice sheen. The veneer has no loose pieces or chips. No insect or water damage. The soundboard, bridges and plate all look good. Low wear, and a very pleasing tone. The tuning pins are tight, and the piano holds a tune well. Currently tuned to concert pitch (A440).
This is is classic Boston-made Mason & Hamlin, certainly on a par with similar-size Steinway pianos.Don't let the low price fool you. This is a high-quality piano in good condition!
