This piano was purchased new from Owens Music, San Luis Obispo / Santa Maria, approximately 25 years ago. This piano was manufactured in the United States before Baldwin moved their manufacturing to China.

According to dealer: The Baldwin manufacturing facility in Trumann, Arkansas stopped manufacturing at this Arkansas factory in December, 2008. Baldwin retained a small staff in Trumann to build custom grands and to finish numerous custom-ordered artist grands. As of October, 2018 the factory in Trumann, AR was closed. This piano was manufactured in the Trumann manufacturing facility, in approximately 1995.

BALDWIN, D. H., Est. 1862. Dwight Hamilton Baldwin, was born in Northeast
Erie County, PA. He arrived in Cincinnati about 1857, and was a piano teacher
as well as a dealer in pianos and organs, as early as 1865. D. H. Baldwin was
located at 34th W. 4th Street, Cincinnati. In 1873 Lucien Wulsin became a part-
ner and the name was changed to D. H. Baldwin & Co. In 1889 the company
started manufacturing pianos and purchased the Hamilton Organ Co. D. H.
Baldwin died about 1900 and Wulsin acquired control in 1903. The name
became Baldwin Piano & Organ Co., see below. Starting in the mid 1980s
Baldwin had D. H. Baldwin grand pianos (4’7”, 5’1”, 5’8”) made for them by
Samick, Korea. A special 125th Anniversary model MP was made for D. H.
Baldwin by Yamaha, Japan in 1987.
