This instrument was refinished and new hammers were installed. It has the original strings, hammer butts, wippens, dampers and it has a perfect set of original ivory keys. The new hammers show very light wear. The tall height of this piano allows for much longer strings and a much larger soundboard which will produce much better tone than a shorter console or spinet piano. This instrument has a rich, full sound with a mellow, warmer tone. The fact that this piano is still in operation today, is a testament to the sturdy construction and exceptional Steinway workmanship. This model is no longer in production by Steinway, however a comparable Model K has a new list price of $38,800.00. An adjustable claw foot stool is included.
