1976 Steinway Model D concert grand

HD 398 ‘World Traveler’
This Model D grand piano was a concert and artist piano owned by Steinway & Sons in New York City. Steinway loaned this piano to artists across the country whenever they needed a great instrument for a concert or recital. After 4 decades of travel, CD-398 arrived at my workshop ready to be energized. After installing all new parts and keeping the original pristine soundboard, this piano literally roared back to life.
With the immense power and aggressiveness of a New York model D and the clarity of tone found in the best of the German Hamburg model D, this instrument now has the best of two continents.
It’s a must-see!

This is Bryan Hartzler, owner of Hartzler Pianos.
I operate a full service rebuilding shop specializing in concert instruments. I have worked as a concert technician at the Aspen Music Festival, the Tanglewood Music Festival, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra, performing concert prep and tuning of Steinway concert grand pianos.
-In my restoration shop I do all of the work myself, and all of the concert prep at the end of the restoration as well, so my pianos are some of the finest concert instruments you will find anywhere.
-You can visit my website for additional information regarding my piano services. www.HartzlerPianos.com
-In particular please visit the restoration page and read about what a new bridge cap/down bearing does for your piano.
-Proper down bearing and new bridge pins on an older instrument makes a tremendous difference in the performance of the piano. A restored piano with with new bridge cap, bridge pins, and proper downbearing will always out-perform a vintage piano with original bridges and bridge pins.
