2018 Yamaha C5X Grand Piano 6'7" Polished Ebony finish. Original owner. Condition is MINT-- unused except to tune and test it. Not a scratch on it.
Purchased in June 2018.
Includes matching bench.
This Yamaha C5X piano has not been used, except to tune the piano and test the sound and feel of it by the recording artist -- tuning and test happened the day the piano was delivered. Ever since that day, the piano has sat untouched, closed and locked in a temperature & humidity-controlled studio up to this point (1 year). Even the protective plastic from the manufacturer is still on the pedals!
We would like to sell the piano ASAP. In all respects this is a brand new piano. It's a beauty with gorgeous black polished finish.
**How does it sound? How is the key action?**
Editors of Piano Buyer listed the C5X as one of the Staff Picks for Musical Standouts.
The "X" (as in C5X) is the newest line, and the C5X is the updated version of the C5. Older C5 pianos are nice instruments, but the newer C5X is a real step up in terms of sound and craftsmanship. Here's what Yamaha has to say...
"The voice of a piano has a limitless facility for expression, shifting with the melody and overlaying notes into a wonderful harmony. CX Series pianos are high-grade grand pianos, possessing both power and subtlety."
It sounds absolutely amazing -- deep, clear, rich tone, more depth than the smaller C-series & CX-series Yamaha pianos. Not dark, but not overly bright. This is a pro-level instrument but highly affordable, especially at the low price we've set for this listing. We auditioned MANY pianos... I've been playing piano for the last 45 years (classical and popular music), and my business partner is a musical prodigy who attended two music schools and performed at Carnegie Hall at 17 years old, so we've heard and played a lot of pianos... this C5X was the hands-down winner to our ears -- for live performance and recording, or just for pure enjoyment.
The extra length of the piano over the C3X makes a significant, noticeable difference in the resonance. It's much bigger sounding than the C3X. We also compared the C5X to the older C5 model and to the C6 (bigger than the C5, and deeper tone). The C5X had a bigger sound than the C5, and to our ears was very much like the C6 -- and for our musical purposes, the C5X beat the C6.
The action of the keys is just right... substantial, very playable. Neither too heavy like Steinway pianos, nor does it have the light, toy-like feel of other less "pro" instruments. This C5X is indeed a "pro's pro" instrument.
**Why are we selling?**
Our parent company is an entertainment company with a record label through Universal Music Group. We purchased the piano for a specific recording project here in Los Angeles but the project got pushed to a later date, and now we are going to be renovating our studio, so we need everything moved out. That said, we need to sell the piano before starting the renovation process.
We would love to keep the piano, but the recording artist does not want the piano moving from here to a temporary location and then back again. And we will only buy pianos that are out of box and assembled here, so if piano needs to be moved out then we sell it. We don't want to store this in an environment not suitable for such a PERFECT and mint-condition instrument. (And this is better than "mint" as it has been unused except to tune it and test the sound.)
**A great investment, and unbelievable value...**
This will be a fantastic investment for the new owner -- these pianos retain their value, and you would be buying an essentially NEW piano for a price that's unheard of... the MSRP is $63,899. But in order to move this now, we're pricing this C5X at only $23,500 (or best offer).
Buyer pays freight or local piano moving costs -- we're in Los Angeles. We will gladly take care of all arrangements and make sure everything is handled properly and safely. We only use professional piano movers for this, so you can be assured this will be easy, safe and with no hassles. Our record label has had a studio division for years, so we're very used to selling and shipping some very expensive equipment and instruments.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions... we will answer them as soon as possible.
