This Howard Baby Grand was built by Baldwin in 1942. The case is moderately ornate mahogany. It has minor scratches and is in good condition. In the early 1990s, this piano was partially rebuilt. The soundboard was stripped and refinished, the plate re-bronzed, and a new pin block was installed with all new strings and tuning pins. The hammers were replaced and the action was regulated. The dampers were replaced and timed and the lyre system regulated. The keytops were replaced with new plastic tops. There is no matching bench.

The current condition of the instrument is that it plays well, has a light touch on the keys and a bright pleasing tone. The tuning pins are tight and the piano will reliably stay in tune. The hammers have minimal wear and will last for many decades. While the soundboard had some separation and areas where the ribs came loose, these areas have been repaired and the ribs are tight against the underside of the board.
